The quality depends almost entirely on the bandwidth of your OUTBOUND internet service at home-that is usually the bottleneck, although crappy campground WiFi can certainly be a problem. Lets us access our DirecTv DVR back home (including stuff we have recorded to watch later), as well as local channels. We've been using Slingbox forever, both to the RV and to our vacation home. I just didn't miss it as much as I thought I would. I think I set it up three times in one year.

At that time I had a portable satellite dish and a Dish Network receiver that I hauled with me. Also, I just seem to be having fun being off the grid and away from the signal that I don't much miss it anyway! 15 years ago I took a one year sabbatical and toured the US in a travel trailer. Reason being, the kind of campsites I like to go to never seem to have wifi available, let alone decent 4G signal. I actually have found that I don't use it that much. I believe this is because Sling doesn't really do any compression or signal processing. Sling is more comparable to the old NTSC TV standard, not very good. Netflix, if I can get a good enough signal to stream it is true HD quality. With a 4GLTE signal the Sling quality is.Ok. I have AT&T with the 30GB/month data plan which also rolls over the unused data.
But even if this weren't the case, we can't give up Dish Networks - we bought our MB used with the satellite dish and Dish receiver already installed, and Jean's house has no cable - so the Dish Networks account feeds her house and the RV. I'd be interested in your reasons for going from Dish Networks to Comcast, as Comcast has driven me nuts, both as a cable TV company and as an iSP.

I understand how I'd sling from you to my iPhone or MacBook Pro - I assume I'd pay the $15 app fee for each device, is that correct? But I don't understand how I'd sling to my TV - wouldn't I need the Sling Player on either the TV or the BluRay player in order to stream from you?
Of course we don't have to sling NetFlix, we can get it on various devices through our account - I don't actually know if they have a limit on max number of devices or max number of simultaneous connections. I do have NetFlix - we use it constantly, and watch very little network TV. I'd rather buy a Slingbox M1 for about $100 than start paying Dish Networks $20/month.
